Herencia Resources finishes review of core copper mineral prospects

(ShareCast News) - Herencia Resources said a new comprehensive geological review of the company's core copper mineral prospects pointed to greater potential for those assets.
Conducted by its new geological advisor Mr John Halliday, the review concluded that significant upside exists for the discovery of further copper mineralisation if any future drilling focuses on the "main mineralised manto [...] a cherty limestone at the base of a sedimentary sequence above a volcanic breccia".

Covering all previous drilling and exploration work, it was conducted on the Picachos, Montenegro and the largely unexplored Pastizal property as a precursor to a broad drilling program on the prospects.

Halliday was involved in the discovery of the Cadia Mineral field in Australia which ranked as one of the world's largest copper gold deposits, and possesed over 30 years' experience in metals exploration mostly with BHP Minerals and Newcrest Mining.

At those two outfits he held the positions of chief geoscientist and general manager, property generation and more recently in the junior sector.

He had also been a principal geological advisor on the acquisition of many significant projects, including Namosi and Wafi-Golpu, alongside a track record of success in global gold-copper deposit exploration, discovery and evaluation, particularly with concealed porphyries such as those that the Oyu Tolgoi-Tsagaan Suvarga copper belt.
