Seeing Machines adds tech veteran Jack Boyer as chairman

(Sharecast News) - AI monitoring systems designer Seeing Machines has appointed Jack Boyer as chairman designate with immediate effect, allowing Ken Kroeger to take the chief executive role on a permanent basis.
Kroeger will retain the position of chairman until 1 January 2019, when Boyer takes over.

"Seeing Machines is poised to realise its ambition to be the global market leader in AI-driven vision technologies," said Boyer.

Boyer holds significant expertise in the advanced materials and technology sectors, and is currently non-executive director at Mitie, non-executive director of TT Electronics, a board member of the Sir Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials and chairman of Academies Enterprise Trust.

He has previously founded and was chief executive of several companies in the engineering, telecommunications and biotechnology sectors and was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and a strategy consultant at Bain & Co.

In 2015 Boyer was awarded an OBE for his services to the fields of science and engineering.

"I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Jack," said Kroeger. "He brings a considerable wealth of highly relevant sector experience and listed company expertise. I greatly look forward to working closely with Jack as we navigate the vast and exciting opportunities which lie ahead for the business."

As of 1639 BST, Seeing Machines' shares were down 1.67% at 10.57p.
