Ashmore inflows up as emerging markets find favour

(Sharecast News) - Asset manager Ashmore on Tuesday reported an 11.2% increase in assets under management for the third quarter as emerging markets found favour with investors.
Total assets at the end of March rose to $85.3bn from $76.7bn in the second quarter on the back of $5bn in net inflows and a positive investment performance of $3.6bn.

"Client activity levels picked up through the quarter following a slight pause at the end of 2018," said chief executive Mark Coombs.

"This reflects a number of ongoing positive factors including investors' light positioning in Emerging Markets, the significant value available across a diverse range of investment themes, and slowing growth and political challenges in the developed world."
